Mumbai University has always been a second home for PhD aspirants wishing to seek the highest degree of specialization. MU offers PhD in the concerned subjects of research of the faculty of arts, commerce, science, law and technology. No other university in India offers such choice in terms of specialization. Admission to these programmes is done through Mumbai University PhD PET. This objective entrance exam tests candidates in relevant subjects of separate faculties. Candidates with a master's degree in relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent marks are eligible to apply.Applicants with national level teacher fellowship are exempted from appearing for this exam.

Eligibility:-

•Master degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university with minimum 55 percent marks in total.  (50 percent marks in case of reserved category candidates).

Exemption from PhD entrance Test:-

Candidates who have qualified GATE/SET/NET/JRF exam and are holders of teachers fellowships of apex bodies like
CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT etc are exempted from appearing for this test.

Mumbai University PhD PET 2022 Syllabus:-
 
The syllabus for Mumbai PhD PET 2022 exam shall consist of various topics in compulsory/core subject and papers of post graduate degree level of the exam prescribed by Mumbai university for the subject.

Mumbai University PhD PET 2022 Paper Pattern:-
 
PET shall be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and of 100 marks.
 
PET shall consist of 100 MCQs of one mark each.
 
The test shall comprise of two papers. Paper I shall be on Research Methodology, research aptitude, logical reasoning, comprehension, communication and general knowledge. Paper II shall be subject specific and the examination of this section shall be based on the respective Master's syllabus of MU.
 
Each paper will have 50 questions and the qualifying marks shall be 50% of the aggregate, taking Paper I and II together.
 
Relaxation of 5% of marks from 50% to 45% shall be allowed for those belonging to reserved category / Differently/Abled and other categories of candidates as per policies of the Government of Maharashtra prescribed from time to time.
